The Vikings raiding and colonizing really got started around the middle of the 9th century, almost 500 years after Attila's start date. That's 400 years after the start of Attila Total War. The first solidly documented event of the Vikings actually sailing across the sea to raid was 793 AD. If, instead of Rome 2, they made a Total War beginning in 772 BC instead of 272 BC, would you expect the Romans to be wearing Segmented armour? The "Spartans" to be wearing muscled cuirasses with red cloaks, Carthage to have Elephants crossing the alps led by a man named Hannibal? How do you know you're of Saxon heritage? If you're from the areas they migrated from you could have any heritage - tribes migrated all over the place. I hope i can get you guys with me on this one i know i might ask a bit to much hollywood but at least the saxons and nords would look a bit more seaxy.Ĭonsidering we know nothing about the Nords in this period - what with the Viking Age not beginning for almost 500 years after this game begins - what do you propose they should have exactly? i noticed that some axe throwing units lack 100 missile damage the gestihas aswell as the viking raider. the heroic horse and gesithas seem to be cladded in germanic armour instead of a bit more unique saxon armour like show on the screen shot above.Ĥ.also a change for the viking forefathers this might make them look alot cooler if they used only the round shields instead off the oval ones also i feel there needs to be a bit more chainmail involved for the elite nordic soldiersĥ. why dont skirmishers use long seaxes as back up weapons as should nordic pikes this signature nordic weapon has to be used more.ģ. these guys shown on the screenshot are really looking cool but why isnt there a unit representing themĢ. so im just gonna say what i think will make the saxons stand a bit out more.ġ.
